Join the Law Enforcement Torch Run on an inspiring 5-day journey as the Flame of Hope travels across Alberta, making its way to the Opening Ceremonies of the 2026 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games in Medicine Hat. The Flame of Hope
About LETR
The Torch Run™ is the most well-known event that the LETR hosts. During this event, officers run the Flame of Hope™ into the Opening Ceremony of local, regional, national and international competitions. Since the launch of this tradition in Canada, there have been a wide range of initiatives established at the national, regional and local levels, led by the LETR. In Alberta, the LETR holds a number of fundraising and awareness campaigns throughout the year. These campaigns and events collectively raise more than $100,000 annually, and are critical to providing quality opportunities to Special Olympics Athletes across the province.

Freezin' For A Reason
The Polar Plunge
LETR invites you to come out and support your community by taking the Polar Plunge in support of over 3,000 athletes across the province! Proceeds raised go to help provide year round sports training and competition for athletes. Additionally, your contribution and involvement helps athletes achieve their goals, live healthier lives, and have a sense of inclusion in the community. If you cannot take the Plunge, you can still come donate and show your support.
