Special Olympics Alberta is excited to announce that the winner of the 2025 SOA Holiday Card Design Contest is Eileen Mundorf. Eileen is a longtime athlete from Red Deer, Alberta, whose creativity and love for the holiday season shone brightly in her card design.
Eileen has been a proud Special Olympics athlete for nearly 20 years, and what she most enjoys about being in Special Olympics is “having fun and having a great time in all my sports and meeting new faces and athletes along the way.” Her joyful spirit and ability to make new friends in any setting makes Eileen a beloved member of the Special Olympics community.
Her inspiration for her holiday card design came from her passion for Christmas, her love of Santa hats, and her enthusiasm for shopping. Eileen has always loved to draw and express herself artistically, so she was excited for the opportunity to submit a design. She also enjoys doing arts and crafts of any kind with her niece.
Eileen is a multi-sport athlete who trains in four different Special Olympics programs. She has achieved remarkable success in competition, most recently at the 2025 Grande Prairie Provincial Summer Games, where she earned two bronze medals and one gold in track and field. She is incredibly proud of these athletic accomplishments. Additionally, she is involved with Special Olympics Alberta’s partner, the Law Enforcement Torch Run, where she has volunteered her time to help support events and raise funds for Special Olympics.
Congratulations, Eileen, on being the winner of the 2025 SOA Holiday Card Contest!
