Damion Chiodo: Podcast Interview with Special Olympics Alberta’s Athlete Ambassadors
Damion Chiodo is an athlete with Special Olympics Alberta who recently acted as an Athlete Ambassador at the 2024 Special Olympics National Winter Games. Damion shared that he greatly enjoyed the experience and representing Special Olympics Alberta on a national scale.
Along with his involvement with sport, Damion hosts a podcast called “Special Olympics Alberta’s Accessible Athletes”. On his podcast he shares his experiences being a Special Olympics athlete and how being a part of this organization has impacted him. He is grateful to be involved in organized sport within such an inclusive environment.
On his most recent podcast episode, Damion interviewed three of his fellow Athlete Ambassadors, Darby Taylor, Leonka Kaluha, and Siobhan Zobatar. The podcast episode consists of the athletes sharing how their involvement with Special Olympics has impacted them and what it meant to have been offered this unique experience.
The Athlete Ambassadors shared with listeners the roles and responsibilities that come with being an athlete ambassador and how this experience gave them new skills and opportunities.
