Esteemed members of Special Olympics Red Deer, Neil and Anne Garbutt, have retired after 30 and 35 years of volunteering.

After many years of devoted service to Special Olympics in Red Deer, Neil and Anne Garbutt stepped down from their coaching positions with the 5-pin bowling program. This dynamic duo has been champions for Special Olympics for 35 and 30 years respectively giving unselfishly of their time, talent and energy on behalf of the hundreds of athletes who took part in the bowling program. In addition to their coaching duties, they were involved in helping organize the annual Christmas party and Neil served for many years on the Affiliate Management Committee as well as a term on the Special Olympics Alberta Board of Directors. Thank you Neil and Anne for your many years of service and your commitment to helping improve the lives of individuals with an intellectual disability through sport. Best wishes from your Special Olympics family for a long and restful retirement.
